Danny Welbeck to Miss FA Cup Semi-Final against City

Arsene Wenger has confirmed that the gunners are struggling with injuries coming into the FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City.

This is an extremely important match for the club, as they appear to be on the verge of missing out on a top four place. In order to pacify the disgruntled supporters, Arsenal have to win the FA Cup. This would also help Wenger stay at the club with less discontent from the supporters. He has been facing a lot of calls to leave the club at the end of the campaign. City seem to have overcome their poor run of form to manage back-to-back wins in the Premier league.

They will be feeling relatively confident coming into the match against Arsenal at the new Wembley stadium. Arsenal are severely hampered by a string of injuries affecting the team. Shkodran Mustafi, Danny Welbeck, Lucas Perez, and David Ospina are the players unavailable for this game. Wenger would have been hoping to have names like Welbeck for the game, as it would significantly strengthen the attacking strength of the team.

Yet, the former Manchester United forward is reportedly suffering from a toe injury and he may not be fit in time to play. Wenger has had some positive news in the form of Ospina being available for selection in just 10 days.

"The latest team news is that everybody should be available. We have uncertainties about Danny Welbeck, and Shkodran Mustafi is out. That's it. Ospina is out and Lucas is still out. They are longer-term injuries. Ospina could be back in ten days," said Wenger. Arsenal may have an excellent record in the FA Cup of late with two wins, but their confidence is at an all-time low after suffering several defeats in the last two months. The club has managed just two wins in the last five league games.
